COVID-19 Statement

Updated 3/17/2020 at 6:12pm PST

The Board of Lake Merced has discussed and unanimously agreed that we will abide by the mandate to shelter in place. As a result, Lake Merced will not be meeting in person this Sunday and likely will not for a number of Sundays yet to be determined.

This Sunday, our plan is to have several livestreams happening concurrently. You should be able to watch from our Facebook page, our YouTube page, or via a link from our website. We want to make this experience as easy to access as we can, and as interactive as we can, meaning that we will be available to chat with you Sunday morning as well.

If you have not already, please make sure to Like our Facebook page and Subscribe to us on YouTube. We will further be in touch later in the week with more information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time. God is a great big God and we believe He has dominion over all. The most numerous command in all of Scripture is "Fear not." We are not afraid. We are not panicked. We are confidently and patiently waiting on the living God.

2020 theme

This year’s annual theme at Lake Merced is an emphasis on how to be a growing community of God’s people. All year long, the teaching and discussion will directly or indirectly be geared at helping Lake Merced become a growing community–a community growing Spiritually and a community growing numerically.

We believe that God’s Word calls us into being a deeply FUSED community of people. Acts 2:44 portrays the early church in this way: “All the believers were together and had everything in common.” They joined to form a single entity. We call this the Church. For all of 2020, Lake Merced will explore the five pillars of a FUSED community.

church life at Lake merced

Lake Merced Church of Christ strives to do three things excellently. Our three asks or three pillars of Church life center on Sunday Worship (Sundays @ 10:45am), Home Groups, and Discipleship (groups of 3-4 people). We believe that people grow in community. Jesus worshipped in the Synagogue, in homes, and in close relationships with twos and threes. We believe the smaller we go, the more we grow.

We Love Because Christ first loved us

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13
